  1. YOU KILLED THAT! during this presentation you showed yourself as personable and had a great mix of professionalism without sounding rigid.

  2. From one UX Designer to another, just wanted to say this was excellent work! Loved the way you approached this. Keep up the awesome work!

    1. Wow that means a lot!! Still have a lot to learn. Thank you so much Izaac! Sent you a LinkedIn request πŸ™‚

  3. hey thanks for the video, I’m a junior product designer that just started last year. This definitely would’ve helped me do better interviews lol. A pro tip that I learned is to use Figma as your slide presentation and then you can include interactive prototypes right on screen which pushes the presentation to the next level :O

  4. Not even 5 seconds in and already want to give you a big thanks for your transparency and for sharing. People like you keep the world going β€˜round. Cheers.

  5. I’m currently a Product Design Director at a small startup and I’ve sent this video to my staff as an example of how to do it right. Well done, Sharon! πŸ‘πŸΎ

    1. WOW that means so much to me!!! Thank you for recognizing that in my work. Thank you! I’m on LinkedIn as well and would love to connect and chat πŸ™‚

    2. I also found this video really helpful as a Product Designer! And this might be a bit unexpected, but I’m actually currently searching for an internship in Product Design as a student of The Hague University of Applied Sciences, so in case you were also searching for an intern or ever considered to get one, I would appreciate this opportunity!

  6. You’ve done a fantastic presentation and breakdown overall for your main project as well as showcasing the how-to on putting it together. Showing how to be more efficient by recycling your project files for web and presentation formatting is incredibly useful for not only aspiring UX/UI designers, but is something that as a junior graphic designer myself I find I can always improve on as time is money in our respective work areas. Demonstrating how you set up for a live interview/presentation by keeping your main slideshow in the middle with a normal dialogue script nearby helped me to better understand how you were able to come off so naturally throughout the video and really invoked a sense of ease and professionalism throughout. Excellent work!

    1. Thank you 😭 I always value transparency as that’s what helps. And ur comment means a lot!! πŸ’—

  7. It’s incredible that this information is free. Thank you for creating this content Sharon. I’m just beginning the process of making the career switch to UX/UI design and these real-world examples are immensely helpful.

    1. Thank you so much Cullen! Means a lot to me. Is there anything particular you’d like to see? I can make my next video on that πŸ™‚

  8. this is insanely useful ty! no one has shared their presentation so openly and thoroughly like you. I’m still indecisive about being a ux designer or data analyst. i love the creativity of ui/ux but i dont have the artistic talent (can’t draw or paint stick figures to save my own life)

    1. As a UX Designer I’ll tell you, don’t focus too much on the problem that you think your not artistically talented enough. Don’t let that drag you down. It’s actually a skill everyone can learn.
Working with several teams within agencies aswell as a freelancer I can guarantee you designers are not creatively great at any artistic skill, but rather focused on a few.
Some may be great at drawing, but bad at digital design.
Some may be great in digital design, but draw the most messed up quick sketches on boards, especially in team workshops that becomes clear.
The thing is all design skills follow a certain process. People don’t pop into existence and all of a sudden know f.e right proportions in drawing, creating contrast with depth and shadows or are already aware of all design principles/guidelines. It’s a attained skill over time improving upon learning what can be improved.
The most important skill in any designer especially in a UX Designer is being able to recognize an issue and find solutions for said issue. An eye to see things can be improved.

So don’t give up. Don’t feel inferior. Know your worth.
And regarding your question about UX Designer or Data Analyst. I’m a very analytical person, I love UX and Data. But I love the creative expression and analysing human behaviour.
You need to ask yourself do you like to use imaginative and soft skills to improve things or do you like creating and visualizing data in a more scientific and mathematical manner?

    2. Hey friend. You can grow in creativity. I’ve been in the design field for almost 10 years. Sometimes I also get overwhelmed by feeling inferior. The beauty of UX is it’s so much more logical and structured. You can do this.

    3. you don’t need to know how to draw, but I’d highly recommend taking a graphic design course (learning grid method, color theory, etc) as that will greatly help your UI/visual skills πŸ™‚

  9. I feel spoilt for this goldmine of information & resources for free! Sharon, honestly, you have no idea how much your videos are helping me improve.

    1. Aw thanks! Yes I’m also trying to Vlog my internship experience rn- will try my best! Thank you for such kind words it inspires me to keep going πŸ’—πŸ’—πŸ’—

  10. You have inspired me in so many positive ways, thank you so much for waking me up from my confusion.

  11. I’m at the very beginning of my journey as a UX-designer (just started learning in Google Coursera courses and at the same time EPAM) and this video is soooo useful on how to make my first case portfolio. Thank you thousands of times!

  12. Watching this as an aspiring junior who feels so overwhelmed with breaking into the market, and a little ashamed of how my first project played out. (I have since done a couple more but it’s something that covers UX more). This presentation is SO GOOD, so much so that I feel motivated and inspired to revise my case study. Thank you for this, it clarifies so much for me

  13. Wow! I can only say THANK YOU! this is incredible! I’ve been stuck for a few days on my new project I needed to hand in April to finish my UX design master and you made it super easy to understand and kept me going. I can’t thank you enough!

  14. WoW!! I’m impressed by your portfolio. No one shared and present their real case study like you. Thank you so much for being the guide light! There’s no doubt that you deserve the job offers.🌺

  15. ANNOUNCEMENT: I’ve been notified of multiple cases of plagiarism so I had to take down my website temporarily. I aimed for transparency in my work for the purpose of education and inspiration, rather than intellectual theft of my project brief, research, and designs to apply for jobs. I will be aiming up re-upload my website in February, 2024. Thanks!

  16. I couldn’t tell you how many times I’ve watched this because it has been so helpful ! Thank you so much

  17. excellent video, thank you. I really like how you told the story and kept it problem/solution focused. The designs look good!
